Questions of Implication:
1. Why do you think the Pharisees came with a small army to arrest Jesus? Why did they come at night but not during the others He had been around?
2. Who do you think the other disciples is that is mentioned to have known the high priest and was around the questioning and mocking of Jesus?
3. What was Jesus pointing out to Pilate in v.36?
Points of Application:
- How often do we run from suffering or adversity because of our faith? Why don't we understanding or practice many of times suffering that the Bible repeatedly tells us we are going to have? Learn from Jesus and His actions when faced with the cross.
- In what ways are you denying Jesus Christ? What is your response to this sin and how far down the path do you go before repentance? Do you see the areas where you could be or do need to ask someone else to help in that?
- What is your thinking and actions indicating about your life being of this world or not from this world? Examine yourself to see if you are truly living in a way where you reflect the spiritual world more so than the physical.
