Questions of Implications:

1. What was Jesus reaction to the people after feeding them? Why do you thinking he reacted this way?

2. Why were the disciples frightened when Jesus walked on the water to them?

3. How does Jesus feeding the five thousand and His words on Him being the bread of life relate?

- Do you rely fully on Jesus to provide for you? Evaluate what your needs and wants are and remember to thank Jesus for everything given to you.
- Reread v. 35-40 How does this impact your life?
- Reread v. 66-67 What is your reaction to what Jesus has said and done in this chapter? Do you believe what Jesus is saying and are you willing to live in accordance?

Summary:

John 6

Jesus went to the other side of Galilee where a large crowd continues to follow Him seeking signs, wonders, and His teaching. This large crowd has not eaten and is becoming very hungry so Jesus talks with His disciples about how to solve this problem of hunger amongst the people. The disciples have no solution to the issue and Jesus in the midst is using this time to teach His disciples. They still seemingly do not understand His power and He once again demonstrates it in feeding the five thousand with five loaves of bread and two fish. Jesus then at night walks out to His disciples who have rowed out a good distance into the sea. The very next day another large crowd gather where Jesus again preaches the gospel, which is pointing the people to Himself. He tries to explain that the things of the spiritual are what matter and things of the physical will perish. He using the analogy of bread and how they must trust in Him the bread of life and not just seek to have their bellies full. He continues to speak on the fact that He has been sent by the Father and He does the will of the Father. The people do not understand Jesus because of His earthly parents and continue to miss that faith in Jesus is where eternal life is found. After hearing the claims that Jesus has made about Himself and being sent from the Father to save people from their sins; many people that had been following Him decide to not continue. He then turns to His disciples and ask whether they will continue and Peter makes a statement about how they no what He speaks about is truth.
