Summary:

John 4

After Jesus and His disciples were baptizing they departed for Galilee and chose to pass through Samaria. During the journey they came to place in Samaria where a well was at and Jesus was wearied from His journey asked a woman to give Him a drink. The woman is caught off guard that a Jew would be even talking to Samaritan let alone the fact of Jesus asking for water. Jesus then begins to deliver the gospel and reveal to her that He is the everlasting water. During the whole time they talk the woman is thinking in only the physical realm because of her pointing out Jesus has nothing to draw water with and that they have to go and worship in two different places. During the conversation they are having Jesus illustrates again His omnisciences and points out the sin in her life. She then goes back into the town and begins telling everybody about Jesus. By this time the disciples have returned from getting food and he teaches them that their is much work to be down in spreading the gospel and that everyone must play their part. The woman brings the people in her town back to Jesus and he begins to once again preach the gospel so that many come to a saving understanding of Jesus Christ is. After they had spent a few days with them teaching them the gospel of Jesus being the salvation that is everlasting they came to Capernaum. In Capernaum there was an official to told Jesus his son was ill and desired Jesus to heal him. Jesus confronts the man that all that he wants is to see a sign by Jesus, but Jesus tells him that his boy is made well. The official believed His word and went home to found out that his boy was healed. The official then inquires about when the boy was healed and finding out that indeed it was exactly when Jesus spoke.
